The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful! My booking was having some issues due to room type and description mismatches, the staffs were able to assist professionally and reassign the right room to me. Appreciate for their help!
Hotel location is in a small alley, so nothing nearby you can eat or shop. Walking at night could be quiet and dark but it’s generally safe. Walking distance to 新闸路metro station around 5mins and Distance from Nanjing Road（南京东路步行街）is a bit far took around 20mins to walk.
Room space is okay, bed is good. (After I got reassigned to the correct room) you can order delivery (外卖）to the hotel.
My personal advice is if you want to book this hotel please double check the room description and image (this could be non-accurate).

Very clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, maid was also very friendly, 5 mins from mrt, manager could speak english, would recommend, a quiet area too
the walk from mrt at night was a little dark but overall a really good place and really good price

We had a wonderful stay here! Loved the thoughtful details, especially the memory foam pillow. The location is super convenient, just a short walk to the shopping street and restaurants. The staff were warm and welcoming, and their service was excellent!! I’d definitely come back. Highly recommended!!

Quite dated. Location is good and a 29 min walk to Nanjing street. Our bathroom had mouldy and broken flooring as the shower door didn’t close properly. We had to ask to change rooms initially as they gave us a room without a city view despite us booking one. It was changed quickly without a fuss. The city view room only just about had a view of you look sideways out the window- photos are of the left and right views as the straight ahead view is of a building. Breakfast looked good but we didn’t try it (around 60rmb)

We did not have a good experience at Kingtown Hotel Plaza Shanghai. The front desk staff were generally unfriendly and unhelpful, with the exception of the cleaning ladies, who were kind and hardworking. The room was dark and not very clean, with several details poorly maintained — something quite disappointing for a so-called AAAAA hotel.
The drain under the sink was leaking water, and overall, the room felt neglected and far from what we expected for the price we paid.
Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It simply doesn’t offer the quality or service you’d expect for that price range.

The hotel itself was pretty nice, however the staff were not. They were not rude, but not kind at All and did not say hi at any point when we were there. They almost ignored us

Nice hotel, modern and clean. Good location, 10min walking to Nanjing Road and People's Square. There are robots to delivery at your room door, so interesting.
