"We chose this hotel as it was very near all the shopping streets. However, for the price we paid (about SG$120 per night), it is definitely not worth it. Before arriving at Kobe, was paying the same room price (and even less) at Osaka and Kyoto but these other hotels were way way better. Breakfast was very sad, can skip and go elsewhere to eat. Room was so so cramped. Overall it is no value for money."
"Staying at this hotel was an unforgettable experience! The onsen was of the highest quality, providing a serene and rejuvenating escape. The service was impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay. My room was incredibly spacious, featuring luxurious amenities that added to the overall comfort. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, offering a perfect spot to unwind and take in the scenery. If you're looking to indulge in a high-end Japanese experience and have the budget for it, this hotel is an excellent choice"
"Didn't realized it will be on top of a hill. We got delayed on our train from Kansai, hence arrived a bit late to Arima, tried to call for shuttle but was unsuccessful hence we run up the hill which we thought was just a small distance, but it was much, we've finally arrived to the hotel at 7:30pm a bit earlier than their published latest check in time of 8:00pm. We were told dinner won't be serve after 7pm, we rushed all the way for nothing. They should have also published that on the website to avoid people like us planning a trip to Arima to experience aside from the onsen but also for the traditional Japanese meals. Anyway, after negotiation they did served us the dinner and it was tasty and sumptuous.
Aside from the small issue about the dinner, this place is clean & quiet, staffs were very nice and attentive, the onsen are relaxing and we got a very good night sleep.
Will still recommend this hotel, but remember to tell them about your arrival time and book the shuttle bus."

"This was my first time staying at Piena Kobe.
I had heard that they serve the best breakfast in Japan! I wanted to go there once😊
I searched online and was able to stay in a suite😆✨ (there were discounts and it was very cheap!) The room was clean and very luxurious. The bath had a jacuzzi and the bathtub was very large. (I used it in the morning and evening😅) The bed was very comfortable on the spacious sofa✨✨✨
And then, the long-awaited breakfast✨
It was the best⤴️✨ as expected😆💓
My favorite roast beef was thick-sliced, and the other menu items (gratin, quiche, fish dishes, etc.) were also very delicious. I have had buffet breakfasts at other hotels, but even though there are many types, the taste is often inconsistent, but the menu items at Piena Kobe's buffet were all very tasty.
Bacon and purple radish? mousse and mozzarella cheese? served in glass bowls. There were also small bowls with 🍓 on them, which were very stylish and delicious.
And there was also 🍓 Amaou juice? (jelly), which was very rich and it felt like I was eating the 🍓 raw (I had 5 refills 😅)
There were also lots of small desserts available,
and they were delicious, of course 😆
The little macarons were so cute just to look at! There were also coin chocolates, heart chocolates, and other chocolates (wrapped in aluminum) next to them, which were fun to eat. I hope I can go with my family next time ⤴️😊It was a really fulfilling night ✨💓✨"
"1. Location: Very close to the beach, Sannomiya Station, and luxury stores are within walking distance
2. Hygiene: There is nothing to say, Japanese hotels are very clean, and the service is also very good, but the space in Japanese hotels is indeed small, and the rooms are a bit cramped
3. Room: The wabi-sabi style decoration style is very elegant, with many high-end design details, the quality of the amenities is also very good, and the quality of the breakfast is also good"
"We are a family of three and stayed in a Moderate Twin Room with Extra bed. The room is quite packed when three beds are there but I believe the room is comfortable enough for two people. The bathroom is comparatively larger than other hotels I have stayed in Japan. We all enjoyed the shower there. The hotel staffs are very nice and friendly. The location is great as no drama when finding our way. Highly recommend to groups of two people visiting Kobe."
"There was a small dry blood stain and a hair on the pillow when we first went into our room. The hotel is dated but the service was great. Breakfast was good also."
"The hotel look a bit old but everything were fine
Spacious room with sufficient facilities
The location of the hotel is convenient which you could reach out to Metro/ JR within 10mins walk
There are Donki, 7-11, Family Mart nearby and you can get all you need
One problem with the hotel is the slope before entering the hotel.
Will be tough if you are having heavy luggage with you"
"A choice that completely exceeded my expectations!
I like the local culture more because I stayed in a hotel!
The service is perfect!
The details are really admirable.
Highly recommended!"

Excellent
DDavid_NThe location of the hotel is not very convenient, but it provides pick-up service. The pick-up person, 800, is a man who can speak a little Mandarin and was very enthusiastic in communicating with us in limited Mandarin and limited Japanese. The hotel is not big, and the guest room facilities are relatively traditional, but the newly renovated rooms have large Western-style beds, which are very comfortable. They also come with an outdoor hot water bath, which feels very refreshing. The hotel's food quality is very high, higher than that of ordinary hot spring hotels, with more choices and delicious. The hotel has the golden bath of Arima Onsen for soaking. The design of the large public bath is average, but the scenery in the kirigiri is good, and the facilities are OK. The overall feeling is good. The price is more expensive because it coincides with Japan's Golden Week. If the price is lower next time, I will consider staying again.

Outstanding
MMonielleThe hot springs are good, there is indoor and outdoor onsen. The room is clean and there are many free things such as free ramen, free yakult, free ice cream and jelly in the room. Very satisfied and will want to come back again. Hotel is also beside one of the entrance to Chinatown
KKeith DalumpinesHotel has all the needed toiletries , pajama, slippers and even face mask.
Room is clean and comfortable to sleep.
Amenities includes washer dryer washing machine
Location is just a short walking distance from sannomiya station and just outside hotel have many restaurants and convenient stores.
Free beeakast buffet is a bonus but eat once or twice is ok. Menu are almost same everyday.
Staff are friendly. Easy and fast checkin checkout.
MMeowVanThe service was impeccable. The staff were very friendly and generally able to communicate in English. Their service is so good that they wipe down all your luggage upon arrival at the hotel, and my bags came out cleaner than when I came!
The food also left us speechless. I’ve never tasted such a delicious meal, and I consider myself a foodie. The dishes were prepared fresh right in front of us. Every detail was attended to, from presentation to taste. It deserves a 100% without a doubt. Since I had a food allergy, they were careful to leave out the allergen in all the foods. I was really thankful for that, because it’s not always a given at Asian restaurants.
The establishment itself is dated, but that’s why we chose it in the first place- to feel the aura of tradition. Having said that though, it was slightly inconvenient that there was no shower inside our room. However, it wasn’t too much of a problem because the shared shower/onsen room was just a short distance from our room, and it was generally not occupied. When we stayed there, there was a storm going on, so the the rain crashing on the window and the outside blinds gave off a spooky feeling, which added to the sense of adventure.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel location is in Shin Kobe JR station, convenient only if you want to have an easy commute to JR Shinkansen. Otherwise, I do not recommend staying this area as Sannomiya option is much better for more central location to connect to places even though the subway line is underneath this hotel as well. Things I don't like about the hotel is that it's old and travel during winter has no cold AC as it's central heating and dry, you cannot change the AC temperature. Breakfast is quite good so I suggest you to try it if you stay here (the hotel will give you two options - regular buffet or japanese set, I recommend the regular as it is buffet with options and you can find local Japanese food item there too).
CCookie118Location is really good 5 - 10 minute walk from the train station (sannomiya) and ikuta jinja. Their is also a matusya right next to the hotel that is 24 hour, so it is perfectly for breakfast and dinner. There is also a lawsons 30 seconds away which is very convenient. The room was very clean and the amenities were very good too. The staff at the front desk also spoke some English, which made the check-in and check-out much easier, plus it was 24h too. I didn't have any issues but if you do the staff will be able to help you.
LLucky101I recently stayed at the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel during my visit to the Kobe Exhibition, and I must say it was an excellent choice. The location is ideal, just a 15-minute subway ride to the exhibition center, with a direct line making the journey straightforward and hassle-free.
The hotel's proximity to the subway is a major plus, offering seamless travel around the city. Notably, there's only one line change required to get to Osaka, making it convenient for day trips or additional business meetings.
Surrounding the hotel, you'll find a plethora of restaurants catering to all tastes, ensuring you won't go hungry. Additionally, there's a massage center nearby, perfect for relaxing after a long day of activities. For those traveling by night buses, the station is conveniently close, making late-night travel plans easy to manage.
While the hotel amenities were generally good, I did miss the availability of free coffee, which would have been a nice touch. However, this was a minor issue in an otherwise excellent stay.
Overall, I highly recommend the Kobe Sannomiya Tokyu Rei Hotel for its prime location, convenience, and the abundance of nearby facilities. It’s an ideal choice for anyone visiting Kobe, whether for business or leisure.

JjiateenIt takes about 20 minutes to take the bus + walk from Shin-Kobe Station.
It is a 10-minute walk from Sannomiya Station.
The location is convenient and the environment is OK.
The restaurant is relatively small and it is a bit difficult to find a seat when there are many people in the morning.
KkarekarekareBook a female dorm room for 4 people, but I was alone so have the room for myself. The bed is futon style, a thin foam and then the futon mattress itself. We get a new white sheet upon check in. There's a thin full body mirror, small rack for suitcases and personal belongings, but if you need to, there's also safe box near staff room. The female dorm room is on the 2nd floor, next to the shared kitchen so you can kinda hear other guests cooking or working on their laptop with the wifi. You can have your coffe, tea, cup ramen and even light cooking is allowed as they provided the pans, and also some seasonings. The sink and the toilet is next to it, hairdryers are available and the toilet has bidet seat.
The shower room are on the b1f floor, which a little bit of hassle because you have to pass the staff room everytime. You can wash & dry you clothes too in the utility room next to it, but I dont know if they charge or not. Another kitchen and TV room is also here. Rental towels, bath robe, one time use shaver are also available.
Over all a pleasant place if you only looking to for a place to sleep, and wash your self. It's 5 minutes walk from Oishi station. There's a small river near too which also a nice place for a small walk.
